4×4 Tours

About this activity

The adventure will begin at your accommodation, where we will pick you up to start the 4×4 tour, with the goal of immersing ourselves in the Erg Chebbi desert.

We will start by traveling through desert landscapes and dunes in true Dakar style, reaching a nomadic settlement where we will have the opportunity to, while enjoying some tea, talk with the locals, learn about their customs, and understand their way of life. We will then continue the tour to “Mifis,” an old mining and military area of French origin, where remnants of the mines and buildings from that era can still be seen. From this location, we will have a view of the border with Algeria, marked by a wall of mountains on the horizon. The tour will continue with a visit to a viewpoint where we can appreciate the vastness of the desert from an elevated perspective. We will conclude our adventure with a visit to the village of Khamlia (originally from Mali). In this small village, we will enjoy a traditional tea while listening to a concert of music from the Gnawa culture, complete with their traditional clothing, instruments, and dances.

Lunch will be served at a restaurant in Khamlia, where we can sample typical local dishes such as tajine or Berber pizza. Afterward, we will return to the accommodation where the activity will end.
